Design Elements:

The white precious resin Montblanc logo on the top of the cap is emblazoned with the number 2 in honor of Ali's second world heavyweight boxing title.
The inspiration for the black and white motif of the cap is Ali's coat, which he wore when he entered the stadium in Kinshasa.
It is further decorated with a golden, lacquered butterfly pattern, for his typical fighting style: "Fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee".
The dove on the side of the hat symbolizes Ali's determination to stand for peace.
The structure of the gold-plated case is inspired by the bandages that boxers wear under their gloves.
Muhammad Ali's two famous victories in two consecutive years are immortalized in the form of engraved inscriptions on the gilded piston handle - "KINSHASA 1974 QUEZON CITY 1975".
The four green lacquered lines on the piston knob symbolize the four ropes surrounding the boxing ring.
