In 2022, Montblanc honors one of the most famous musicians of the 20th century, who is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music: Jimi Hendrix. Inspired by the cover of his Electric Ladyland album released in 1968, the body of this limited edition of only 1,942 copies is covered in a lacquered gradient. The surface of the cap symbolizes the amplifier, a Marschall model used by Hendrix, and has lacquered elements. The gold-plated clip is angled to resemble the vibrato bar of an electric guitar. The Montblanc logo on the top of the cap is made of precious resin. Another notable detail is the yellow gold-plated ring, which takes inspiration from a guitar cable, and the handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib features an engraved portrait of Jimi Hendrix himself.
